Every mobile phone nowadays has the possibility to make a picture, listen to music or go online. But can you use your mobile phone to log on to several online services? With SIM-ID from DigiNotar you can. By using SIM-ID you are able to add an electronic signature which is as trustable as a written signature.
How does it work?
Your mobile phone will get a new special simcard with extra functionalities on a secure part of the chip. That safe part of your mobile phone will be the location of your digital certificate. This certificate will be your digital identity. With that identity you can use your electronic signature, arrange your access or confirm your payment.
What are the possibilities of SIM-ID?
You can use SIM-ID for example for:
- Access to secure web services like online banking.
- Add a legal electronic signature on your documents.
- Confirming an online payment.
- Enable your corporate network
It is possible to put different types of certificates on your simcard. You can publish certificates on the sim yourself.Only the qualified certificates have to be published by DigiNotar on your sim. SIM-ID is integrated in the services of DigiNotar. This means you can use SIM-ID easily for services like authentication- or signing processes. The authentication service PASS and the DigiNotar Signing Service support SIM-ID.
